Boost your metabolism

Hi friends.. happy tuesday hope your all well :)
Its the time of year wher
e we are confronted by all sorts of calorie filled temptations..which are yummy and fun to enjoy but the moderation factor often wavers..Sure you could eat what you wanted a few years ago and not even notice, but as we get older all those days where we have accidently overindulged all seem to add up...can i hear a ahuh? yes friends your not alone.

So with all this in mind i thought i would do some reasearch, here are some ideas that you can include in your daily diet which have been proven to speed the metabolism up.

GREEN TEA
is the main source of epigallocatechin gallate, known better as EGCG. This healthy catechin speeds up your brain and nervous system, causing your body to burn more calories.
you can drink it hot or cold and is a yummy and light drink, which is perfect to sip on while your eating a meal or curp the mindless snacking..

Yogurt
The high levels of protein present in natural yogurt require a lot of energy to be processed. Plus, the pro-biotic cultures found in yogurt help regulate your digestive tract.
as you all know im a particular fan of yogurt as a protien rich food :)

SPINACH
Popeye was right about one thing: spinach can help make you strong and healthy. In addition to speeding up your metabolism, it’s a great source of antioxidants, magnesium, potassium, iron and vitamin C.
I like to use spinach leaves in my salads because it add more nutritional value than lettuce.

EAT BREAKFAST!
Breakfast is essential. Your body has been deprived of food throughout the night, therefore your metabolism has slowed. If the cells do not receive sufficient nutrients they will begin to function less efficiently on smaller amounts, and they will actually store more fat to use during these times of nutritional deprivation. Eat six small meals a day to keep your body's fuel supply consistent and keep your metabolism revved up. If you have been dieting or skipping meals your body's metabolism slows down to compensate for the lack of nutrients. When lean people overeat their metabolism speeds up and when obese people diet their metabolism slows down.

CHOOSE WISELY
The types of food you eat can also alter your metabolism. Overeating when you are stressed slows your metabolism.
Proteins raise your BMR(basal metabolic rate) by 30 per cent, while carbohydrates raise it by just six per cent, and fats a mere four per cent.
WATER
missed my post on this click here
A recent study by germany researchers suggest that 90 minutes after drinking cold water (H20) will boost your metabolism by 24% over their average metabolism rate. Make sure to drink your water cold. Not only does water keep your body lean it also helps with keeping the flow of nutrients and helps get rid of free radicals. Make sure you're keeping the water cooler near by

Build muscle with weight training or resistance exercise.
At least two to three times a week, you should add weight training or progressive resistance exercise that builds muscle. Muscle burns more calories than fat, and the more muscle you have, the more calories you burn, even at rest!

COCONUT WATER

Consumption of coconut water helps in effecting natural weight loss and also in strengthening of the immune system. Coconut water also helps in raising the metabolism and cleansing of the digestive tract.

These are just a few and my favs, hope they are useful to you.. dont forget that exercise is the number one key to boosting metabolism so try your very best to get your sweat on every day.. and lastly be kind to yourself enjoy christmas and eat the things you love just watch portions and be sensible :)
